ARGGGGGGH
Just bought an ATV2 to hook up to my HD projector. Being that my projector doesn't handle audio (at all) I was hoping I could use airplay to output the sound to the multimedia speakers attached to my macbook pro. Apparently you can't do that?

Ok, no biggie. I'll hook up another set of multimedia speakers.... Oh wait. It's optical only. No analog.

So for right now I am stumped. I really would like a way to use the ATV2 with my sounsticks hooked up to my mac(same room). Are there any other solutions?
Any help would be appreciated. Thx!

you could use something like this to convert the digital to analog, then use a cable to get that into your line in.

airplay is really only for getting content to an appleTV ( or audio only to an airport express, or a new airplay enabled device). the AppleTV is really only a receiver.
