Whenever I try to access HomeSharing, my PC reboots. I have tried all possible fixes I know and not successful (reboot, restore, update iTunes, update ATV2 (originally bought a refurb) etc, etc, etc. I went to the Apple Store and they replaced it with a factory unit and still same problems. Everything else works fine, Netflix, etc. It will recognize my Library on start-up but it will not connect. Then it will shutdown my computer and tell me to turn on HomeShare. Then after 8+ years of the same log-in password, iTunes tells me it is no longer valid and I've had to change it twice since then. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.

It's more likely to be a problem with iTunes (or your PC) than with the ATV; which just manifests itself when the ATV connects.

You have already re-installed iTunes, but have you tried rebuilding your library? Here's a link explaining how.

On the Home Sharing - I've had problems with that too. Once, the problem was the time wasn't set on my ATV, so it may be important that the time on the ATV and PC match?

On another occasion, it seemed the Home Sharing authentication server(s) were down for a few hours, since I couldn't turn it on on my Mac, iPhone, iPad or AppleTV; it just said it was a account/password error.

Tried and didn't work. Still reboots. Anyone else have an idea? Thanks

It was an issue with the firewall on the virus software I was using. I switched over the free microsoft software and have not had any problems.

Why would I spend $2000 to replace a perfectly good PC when all I had to do was change from one free software to another?:confused::confused:
