I've seen a similar post in scanning through but not quite the same problem...
I have an older projection 1080i Hitachi TV, a newer Onkyo TX-SR608 receiver and purchased the ATV3. When connecting the ATV3 to the receiver through the HDMI cable (and then HDMI cable to TV through a DVI-HDMI converter), the picture is scrambled. If I connect the ATV3 directly to the TV with the same HDMI cable and converter, the picture is fine. I've then manually set the resolution on the ATV3 to 720p (which works on the direct connect) and reconnected through the receiver and the same problem happens. I've gone through what I believe are all the possible settings on the receiver, but can't fix this. I've set it to 'pass through' to try to avoid upscaling but still no luck.
I recognize getting a new TV is one solution, but not in the cards right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
