I really hope we get time capsule support. Would break the need to have my laptop on just to stream movies.

I just don't understand why they are wasting time with this if they plan on making a real "TV" later this year..... Hmm

Kind of like how they're wasting time with the iPod Touch because of the iPhone, or the Mac Mini because of the iMac?

I sometime get the impression that Apple do try to fill hype.
Logistically, I don't know if it's possible to design/create/ship a product in such a short time...

But did Apple always have the 4S in mind do you think? Or did the hype of the 'iPhone5' get so big, that the 4S was released in the interim?

Could this be the same with such huge hype around the "iTV", so Apple could be releasing an aTV3 (probably with one or two pretty decent features) so we all buy it?

Am I right in saying that? Or logistically, can a company not ship something so quick?

?

It is when the whole new product line have the same arch...and if the ATV3 is using the A5 even more.

Agreed, this would be great.

They might be working on several ideas of the same product at the same time. The teardrop design of the "iPhone 5" might have been an actual plan at first that was dropped due to limitations in what they could fit inside, or it's a plan for another (iPod Touch?) or a future (iPhone 5?) product. We'll never know.

Either way, I don't think Apple are using any kind of rushed solutions, although they might have backup plans, like releasing the 4S in case the 5 wouldn't be done in time. But that's just a guess from someone with no clue what so ever, so don't trust me on that one ;)

Apple tv 3

Well I suppose some of you brought up some pretty good points, but I think it would be great if they created an Apple TV 3 and an App store which would be a great start to the whole "Television Set" idea n stuff.... very excited for a new iPad 3 and ATV3!!!

I am wondering if they are waiting to get more content on to it before releasing a full sized tv product. I love it for Netflix and they very occasional movie rental but that's pretty much it. I think the tv offerings are still too a la carte to be successful. I feel like the ability to get apps on to it (Hulu, tv channel apps, a browser, some games) would really fill out the possibilities. In hind sight the roku would probably have filled my needs better. I would really miss the ipad2 mirroring though.

I really hope that the Apple TV 3 gets HDMI CEC so that when you turn it on your tv turns on and is the right input.

The only thing missing from atv for me is app support (hulu, plex) and it would be sweet if they would allow external drives to be connected to it, but I think that is doubtful seeing as they went away from internal drives.

It would be nice if the AppleTV3 had support for 1080p content, which should be very doable by now on dirt cheap hardware. Sheesh anything less is just a complete waste of time and money!
