Gday

I have a first gen (160GB) AppleTV which I hacked using ATVFlash.

I find it tends to need a restart fairly regularly (ie few times a month), due to dropping frames, sometimes hanging up, losing sound, ....

Sometimes resetting the Finder is enough, other times it needs a complete restart.

Is this common, or should I consider doing a fresh Flash?

cheers

I have to restart mine before every use, although mine has the Crystal HD video accelerator card installed and is being used exclusively with XBMC.
It's as if the driver for the card gets "dropped" by finder after quitting XBMC, restarting XBMC doesn't get the driver "picked up" again.
Quite often the unit wont respond to any input from the remote when booting into XBMC without a complete reboot too...
Its a bit of a PITA, but ...
Looking forward to getting an updated version after tomorrows expected announcement ;-)

edit : after the AppleTV3 was announced I wasnt particularly impressed so I'll be keeping the ATV1 and putting a Linux XBMC image on it - as soon as I figure out how to do it !
