Hi

I have a Imac bought in the begining of october.I'm running 10.4.10 and (thankfully) have had no freezing issues and screen wise nothing I can't live with..

But, I have a issue with audio "zits" and "fluttery" sounds (like crickets or kinda like the DVD drive reading).

This comes out my 1/8 inch jack fed into speakers or through my degdesighn 002 running core audio (pro tools stuff).

I used the phone support once I was instructed to reboot holding down four keys ( I forget which ones.) didn't do anything.

Idea's?

Andrew

Try using the imacs built in speakers, and see if the noise persists (if it does, it's in the imac - not good). Then try the speakers on a computer w/o the problem. Try to isolate what's wrong.

It sounds like it might be interference (radio) echoing through your speakers.

I had it once with some external speakers on a PC that made the sound even when they weren't plugged in to any power supply... Freaked me out at first!
