as someone with a very-slight hearing loss in one ear, it's endlessly-frustrating for me, that i cannot precisely place the audio balance slider where i need it (it falls back to center, or just a little too much to the left).

for this reason, i used to jailbreak my phone (there was an app to allow more precise balance).

i no longer do that, am now on the beta... and i keep moving forward.

does anyone know of an app (perhaps a music-playback app... altho that wouldn't help with spotify or soundcloud) that has such a feature? (ie a smooth balance option, or at least, more 'steps')...

thanx!

Can't really help you. But it surprises me with Apple efforts for accessibility that they don't have a better option. They could, instead of it snapping back to the middle. Allow you to place it where ever you want. And if you want it in the middle they could add a reset button.

exactly. i actually got someone, several years ago, to create an app for my jailbroken phone to do this... and it was perfect. i've posted this to the ios suggestion site for apple... but of course, nothing changes.

frustrating, but so it goe. everything else works great.

Have you tried pulling your finger down once you start adjusting the balance?
If you pull your finger down you get finer control the further you move away from the slider.

This is similar to doing the same with ff/rw video.

Apologies if I've stated the obvious to you, just making sure you've tried this.

thanks, have tried literally everything. it's the place between the center and first indent to the left; no way to get the slider to stay there (i've even tried superglue)...
