Hello all,

Just to let you know a nice tip for adding any kind of file under the audio book category on iTunes. I know there are other methods, purchasable apps, conversion methods and Doug’s loveryly apple scripts. But this is a way of adding any file format;

1) Take an ordinary audio book and add it to your library, it should show under the audio book subcategory. Now locate the file (right click and locate in finder) now move it to your desktop.

2) Go back into iTunes and click on the audio book as if to play it, you will now be asked to locate the file.

3) Locate the file that you want to show under the audio book heading. This can have any bit rate and be any format. I have used .mp3 and .wav

4) After some time the file should then begin playing, it will have the wrong name and author but it will be there, in audio books, playing. All you need to do is rename it. If you want to repeat add the desktoped audio book again and repeat.

I have used this on the vast majority of my audio books and can confirm that these do add to the iPod (iPhone) correctly.

Enjoy.
