Hi there, today I received my new 27" iMac (late 2012). I switched from pc, so everything is new to me.

The iMac is outstanding, but there is one problem. Whener I listen to music, I hear this crackling/skipping of the audio, randomly. It's much less when I listen via Spotify, compared to Youtube. I'm kinda irritated by it. I paid so much for something that shouldn't have this problem.

Does anyone know more about this or how I can fix this problem?

Specs:

3.4Ghz i7
32GB ram
GTX 680MX 2048 MB
3TB Fusion drive

Everything is updated totday, so it's not the updates.

THANKS!!

mate have you tried listening any mp3 file you have to compare to streamed music? Do you hear the same crack sound when you plug in the headphone or an external speaker set (if you got them)?

I actually just rebooted the imac for the first time and there's no more crackling. After all those updates etc. a reboot was pretty much needed, but I forgot to do it. Damn I got scared. I hope that the problem is solved now.

Thanks for the reply!!
