I'm currently running public beta 2 but experienced the same issue on beta 1. When playing music over CarPlay I am experiencing audio crackling and popping along with other artifacts. Has anyone else had this issue?

How are you using Car Play in a BMW?

I'm having the exact same issue. At first I thought it was the new lightning cables I got but then tried an apple one with the same problem.

Glad it's not just me. Btw 2016 Honda Civic having the problem.

I'm really glad to hear it's not just me as well. I've moved to using Bluetooth for the most part right now because I'm not willing to give up the beta - and that takes a lot of work :p

I've had the same issues. Crackling and occasional skips in music. Rewind the song and the defect is not in the song itself. I've found the beta as a whole to be extremely sluggish with frequent hangs. Particularly in Safari and Messages. I have a 2016 Camaro. I've rolled back to the last stable iOS 9 and issues are gone. So its not my head unit or cable.

Explorer sport, and I get the occasional in and out.i also have an issue with podcasts not showing up. Hit play on the phone and it works. Beta 1 didn't have this issue.hoping next beta fixes it

Aftermarket Pioneer head end and no Car Play issues other than occasional USB disconnections (Car Play existed) that existed in 9.3.x.

I've got a Pioneer headunit with CarPlay and it definitely has the audio artifact problem. I usually only notice it while playing podcasts during my commute as it doesn't crop up until well into my drive. Beta issues so ...

Do you also suffer from having the device completely disconnect from the head unit? I have to unplug and replug the lighting connector to get it working again.

I would be interested to know if public beta 3 / dev beta 4 fixes the audio issues.

Yep - same issue and workaround. Haven't tried updating the head end yet.
At least for me I have updated my head unit and the problem keeps on happening. I always thought it might have been a defect on my infotainment system. Glad to discover that I'm not the only one because it's a pretty dangerous thing to have happen while driving.

I'm on public beta 3 now and I think both this and the Siri issues have been resolved. I'll have to use it more to be sure, but I'm excited to finally have CarPlay enabled again!

On my commute home, I tried CarPlay with apple maps. I was not able to get any voice nav prompts. I was listening to podcasts, but when the navi would normally say something, the podcast would pause for the time it would normally take to say the directions, then the podcast would unpause. But the Siri navigation voice was silent. 2017 volt

I did the exact same thing as you describe today and it worked as expected. I have a aftermarket pioneer head unit.

Nope, beta 3 did not seem to resolve the audio popping. The thing is, its happening no mater where I play it. Carplay, headphones, speakerphone, bluetooth. At some point the track pops. I rewind the song and there's nothing there. It's clearly the music app hanging. Goes away when rolled back to iOS 9 so its not a device defect.
