My issues are with editing 4K video in FCPX on a MacBook Pro M1 Pro. The issue does not exist with 1080p video.

During playback in FCPX, the audio will "skip" and drop out on some frames. This usually happens after I have made a blade cut in the timeline or if I zoom in or out on the timeline. But, it can happen at any time and it is very frustrating.
This happens when editing multicam or single clip timlines.

I have tried editing 4K video on a 4K project as well as on a 1080p project, and it makes no difference.
My footage is 4K/30 10 bit from a Sony A7SIII. My timeline is 4K/24.

You can view an example on Vimeo.

FYI, I have tried re-installing FCPX. I have removed all plug-ins and the problem persists. I have deleted FCPX Prefs.

THIS PROBLEM ONLY HAPPENS ON 4K VIDEO. I have not had any issues with 1080p.

I think I found my problem. I was using CrumplePop's Echo Remover 2 on my clips. When I turned off that effect, the problem disappeared.
