Audio Issues with iPhone 11 Pro + Airpods 2

I've been using my iPhone 11 Pro with Airpods 2 since last year without issue. A few days ago, I began having audio issues in which the audio will cut in and out several times per second, for several seconds, and then the audio will stop. The connection is never lost. This issue does not happen when listening on my iPhone XR. What could be the issue?

I have been checking for a solution, and a lot of people are saying that it might be an issue with the phone as it is has been happening to a lot people. Have you updated your phone recently? seems like the issue goes away after the update.
