Audio oddities in Yosemite

Hey, guys!

Just updated to OS X Yosemite and all seems well, except for my audio.

I can play music through my external speakers via iTunes and YouTube etc. But all my system noises play through the internal speakers in the Mac Pro and not my external speakers.

Has anyone else had this issue and/or know how to resolve it?

System Preferences/Sound/Sound Effects/Play sound effects through... ?

Yes, they do play through the external speakers.

It's weird that YouTube plays through the external speakers, too, but Vimeo does not.

edit: Just read elsewhere that a PRAM reset should fix the problem, and sure enough - it did!
