In Prefs>Audio/Midi, audio output has no options in the drop down menu!
It cannot see my Digidesgn Audiomedia 111 card, even though the mac system 10.3.3 can see it. Itunes can output through the card, but GB cannot?

I have checked the suppiers website and installed the correct driver (which only comes with ProTools), and I have set System prefs> Sound> Output to Digidesign HW AM 111. This works fine and itunes uses it for sound out.

Apps>Utilities>Audio/midi setup seems to be having problems with the sound card too. Everytime I restart, it shows a new icon with a question mark, and when I click on the icon, it has device name blank, manufacter as Digidesign, and although I can rename the device, nothing else can be changed.

I bought this g4 dual 500 specifically because Digidesign said the driver would work on this mac and os, and because the g4 could run GB.
Any ideas? Help......please.

DigiDesign does something rather strange with their drivers, in that you have to run their setup application (preference panel?) to register each application you wish to use the sound card in before the driver will allow it's usage in that application. IIRC they also only allow one application to use the sound card at a time.

Mind you, I don't have any direct experience with these products, merely what I hear second hand on the Core Audio developer list. Some of this may have changed, and you should yell at their technical support to see if you can get what you want setup. If you cannot (and I suspect this will be the case) you should return the card and get one from a company that doesn't produce such a draconian driver.
