If I have multiple audio out ports connected at one time (e.g. HDMI and optical) does the Apple TV pump audio out of all at the same time? Or is there a way to choose which port is 'active'? Or does is have an built-in priority?

ideally I want to listen to music through my amp and DAC, and use my TV speakers for listening to TV. If I'm using the TV to navigate through the ATV, can I set it so the HDMI audio is off? (without using mute/volume on the TV ) )

Is not a big thing, just want to be clear how it works.

Thanks in advance.

It pumps audio out of both ports simultaneously. I just turn the TV volume all the way down so I just hear the sound coming from the receiver.
