Hey everyone,

I'm using windows xp home and I'm getting static, hiss and strange noises while listening to music. I've tried all players (WMP, Quicktime, iTunes, Winamp). I'm using the new iMac and the latest bootcamp 1.4. Is anyone else having this problem?

P.S. The sounds aren't present when headphones are connected.

Strange... I've had the opposite problem. I get the noises when headphones ARE connected, but NOT when they aren't. (the noises don't appear under OS X, btw).

My opinion? Both Microsoft and Apple need to work a little harder making iTunes/Quicktime compatible with Windows. But that's just my opinion.

At least they work fairly well together, which is enough for me at the present time.

Had the same exact problem. It's fairly well documented here and on the Apple Discussions (and apparently it's not limited to macs).

I installed the latest drivers (Dec '07 v.1.83) from the RealTek website and it fixed the issue for me.
