I need this information too, but I was read on some website (I am forget the URL) Apple designed iPod with same audio chips, so the sound quality is SAME.. Correct me if I am wrong

i have a ipod touch 64gb and i have sell my ipod classic. using it connect to a good hi-fi system or to my car. my ipod classic have better sound them ipod touch. the touch have the highs a little grain and the lows aren't so tight. i don't know what chips are in, but the sound of the classic is far better and cleaner.

Just my opinon.
