Audio Recording Possibility???

Is there any way to manage to do the following on my (mid-2010) MacBook Pro - OS X 10.10.4:

1) Record the audio that's on this youtube video:

2) Then make a CD-R from that audio file (I'm not trying to capture the video portion)

My MacBook has a CD-R, CD-RW. etc. etc. drive

Any suggestions would be a godsend.

If I had to do this, this is what I'd do:

First, download Firefox and one of the add-ons that let you download YouTube videos.

Then, I'd download the video (I would choose mp4 format, highest quality available if more than one option is offered).

Then, I'd download something called "QTAmateur" from here:
https://www.mikeash.com/software/qtamateur/
It's a small player/utility that hasn't been updated in some time, but still works fine.

Then, I'd open the mp4 file in QTAmateur.

Then, I'd choose "export" from the file menu.

I would choose an export format such as "aiff", which is uncompressed audio that can burned to CD.

I'd export the file as a aiff file, then burn it to CD.

If you have Toast available, you might be able to burn the audio from the mp4 file directly to CD "as an audio file" directly (withOUT having to convert it first).
This in fact seems to work when I drop an mp4 file into Toast on my own Mac (I didn't try to burn the CD).

Im pretty sure you'd have to use Audacity and Soundflower.

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas!

In the end I downloaded the Media Human youtube to mp3 app (it's free ;-) ). It also seemed a bit more straight-forward than the other freebies.

Now the video (posted above) is in my iTunes Library/Playlist.

Don't have a blank CD-R at the moment to use in order to try answering the following questions for myself. So - when I do:

1) iTunes (latest update) says there must be a check mark beside the playlist. There isn't. Will that matter? (maybe happens once a CD is inserted?)

Also - the audio downloaded as 1 song, 33 minutes duration and the "playlist" (in iTunes music library column on left) only comprises that 1 item (the playlist name) which I labeled: Ciudadanía.

2) Am assuming Media Human downloaded the audio as an MP3 - and that's the setting I should use when I hit 'burn'?
(Other choices are 'Audio CD' or 'Data CD')

Any other settings to be fiddled with?

I realize it's crappy sound to begin with on the youtube video....but I'm trying to help someone who's illiterate memorize all she needs to know in order to pass her US citizenship exam. (which fortunately she'll be allowed to do in Spanish)

Your suggestion looks good in light of the questions cd burning from iTunes left me with (see above).
But can't do anything further till I get a pack of CDs. (Never thought that was something I'd be buying again...the future is the past, right?
