New to Apple eco system bought a M1 Mac mini 16gb 1Tb,
My old Creative speakers 2.1 which are driven by dedicated Creative sound card on Windows 10 don't sound loud enough on M1 mini.
There must be sound /audio amplification apps for Mac. Can you recommend me some apps which can boost audio output of M1 3.5mm audio port.

I mainly need to watch youtube & play music/songs on my system while working.

There is hardware volume control using that the base is good enough but treble is low even at full volume.
Double check the audio settings first to make sure you are outputting max volume.

Could you tel us the exact model of your speakers?

How are you playing music on your mac? What app?

Background: I am an audio engineer

Audio settings the output is set to max, difficult to remember exact speaker model as they are a decade old now.
I haven't copied my Music collection to M1 yet but will be using JRiver media center on M1 since that what I use on windows 10.

Good to connect with an audio engineer hope to get some more info from you regarding audio as I lost my audio engineer friend to Covid-19 virus with whom I was planning lot many things for video sound recording.

Sorry to hear that. I’m wondering if it has to do with whatever app you are using to playback. The default output of a windows machine and Mac should be the same via 1/8in Jack. But you may have had some sort of EQ and/or boost on your windows machine.

I found it very difficult to get high-quality sound out of any audio jack. They really are designed for earbuds. I switched to a USB DAC with Amp and plugged the speakers into that. Much better sound.

After 10 years, it's probably time for something new.
Get a good set of self-powered speakers...

Yes its old but I prefer to create least electronic junk so first I attempt to make use of it if I can.

I eventually found a free tool with dedicated M1 driver, many inbuilt presets along with lot of customization.

Tested the suggestion here, but uhhh, and I've had Bongiovi and Boom (both free and payed) too, also uhh 😛
Checked up free eqMac on my MBA, good when it works, but lots of reststarts of the app. Checked it to on the MacStudio too, not better.

Conclusion:
My external active speakers are good though, old as they are. But sound is variously good in different apps.
But I have 2 in one room and 2 others in another room. Best solution still, even with the old Airport Express.
Wish Apple could release a modernization of them 😁

Maybe you like the application Audio Highjack?

I have all the RogueAmoeba apps - both SounceSource and Audio Hijack are great. For this application SoundSource would be best. They currently DO NOT WORK ON VENTURA.
I also have emac. It works on Ventura, but has frequent crashes.
Trying SpeakerAmp right now and it looks like "the ticket." My Dell U38DW18 speakers cannot be controlled with the standard volume keys and this fixes it.

They tend to release update one betas become gold masters! Trust me when I say it will they will update once the gold master for Ventura is released about one week after that! That's what they usually do that way!
