Authenticator transferring over to new device after a restore?

Does anyone know if the new authenticator feature in iCloud Keychain also syncs when you restore to a new device? I imagine it should since it's part of iCloud Keychain but I'm not finding any clear answers on that. It would be even better if it would cross over to Monterey.

I'm expecting it should transfer to a new phone.
Not sure what you mean about Monterey but that's synced with my devices for 2FA codes.

Monterey will have it in keychain too. I’m presuming that’s what they are asking.

since it’s part of keychain, will move to a new device, same as how my iPad automatically picked it up after adding to my iPhone.
