Hello all,

This might be to good to be possible but here is my issue. I work in iraq and itunes is lifeline for tv shows, BUT my wife at home in states also like the shows that i download seasons of. So my question before buying a unit is....is it possible for her to download all the things I buy overseas to the apple tv in the states without paying again?
I'm guessing from what i've read only method is syncing through cable with is obviously not an option here but if we use same itunes account on both computer and apple tv would it work?
Thanks for input...

No, you get one download per purchase (per the studio requirements to Apple). The only way to get your stuff over to the Apple TV is by syncing.

You can't redownload content from iTunes unless you call them up. Even then they tend to give you only one do-over.

You could however burn the content to a disc and mail it to her and if she has access to the same account could put it on her computer then sync it to AppleTV.

About the only alternative I've seen that does what you want is Amazon's Video On Demand service. It streams the TV shows instead of forcing you to download them like iTunes.

You could pick up a $99 Roku box (or a pair of them) instead of an Apple TV and use Amazon's service instead.

Your wife and you should be able to stream the same TV show purchases. However, you lose the Apple TV UI and ease of use.

Thanks for helps, I think i'll go with silents idea as I don't wanna lose the apple UI and itunes functionality....

You could however burn the content to a disc and mail it to her and if she has access to the same account could put it on her computer then sync it to AppleTV.

Alternatively, you could upload the files onto a server that you both have access to. It would be painful if either of yours internet connection is slow, but it would work.

Maybe a mobileme account could help out here in keeping both of your computers in sync.

Otherwise, you could use something like Rapidshare.com or Yousendit.com
