Auto brightness

My auto brightness does not seem to work. Does anyone else's work? Goto full bright turn on auto brightness and go into a dark room. Does it automatically dim the display?

Yes, in very dark rooms the backlight on the screen is noticeably dimmer.

Its not instant and I don't think it should be but it works fine for me. There is a setting to turn it on and off, is yours off?

your auto-brightness feature might have been turned off. you can turn this on by going to system preferences>displays, then clicking the tick box at the bottom.

guys.... he turned on auto brightness

as others have said, yes it dims it. is that what yours is doing?

it doesnt check brightness the whole time, only when waking it from sleep
