Hi, can't find a post anywhere else so...

Why does a iPhone/iPad have to quickly swap to another Free WIFI network when you leave your home, but yet does not auto-connect back to your home network upon your return?

I have tried to look in settings and even tried to tell Siri where I am mainly based

If there is an answer; I'll sure appreciate it, otherwise I offer these for next upgrade

In Sys Prefs on iPhone/iPad/iPodTouch, you have an option to enter up to three locations (called lets say Personal Networks) i.e. Work, Home, School

That's it, simple, When I come home from Work, I want to be on my Network and not the free BT/Neighbor network

At the very least, the iDevice should know that when it's plugged back in, you are connected at Home or Work, I know this will be a moot point soon as Macs/PCs come less needed in your use of them. It just annoys me having to keep switching networks to ones it should know automatically.

Any advice or suggestions or comments most welcomed

thanks

My 4S and iPad 2 both auto-connect when I return back to my house/work/friend's. I didn't even have to change anything on either device. Have you tried making your device forget the free WiFi?

Auto Connect Back to Home Network - WIFI

Thanks for reply, The Free WIFI is multizone, I mean when I travel in UK, the same network can be used, in 3 million hotspots in the UK or so.
After your advice, I have deleted/forgotten an annex of it called BTOpenZone-H, Hopefully BTFON will still work and I will see tomorrow if I get auto back to my home and work networks so thanks!
Failing that, I will delete all networks apart from Home and Work :apple:

It will auto connect to the most recent network. You must have added your home network first. If you make it forget and then reconnect, what it will do is only connect to BT Open Zone when you are out of range of home. If the free wifi network penetrates to your home, then you might be outta luck.
