Auto-Lock timing not correct

the new 30 second timer works correctly. It will dim after 20 seconds and lock at 30. However the 1 or 2 minute does not, time is actually cut in half. I always have had 1 minute auto-lock but since updated to iOS 9 I noticed the screen shut off rather quickly than normal. I used the clock on the home screen to verify and the 1 minute auto-lock, locks after 30 seconds. The 2 minute locks at 1 minute. I did not try any other time after that.

Does anyone else have this issue?

if you set to 1 minute it will dim in 30s and auto-lock after 1minute if you are in e.g on the setting screen. But if you on the home screen than it locks after 30secs only, maybe to spare battery assuming you don't read nothing important on the home screen so it can be locked sooner.

you're right. just left it on the settings screen and it locked after 1 minute. on the home screen it dims after 20secs and locks at 30secs. interesting.

I noticed the same...thought it was a bug for sure. I used to keep it at two minutes, and screen dims at one minute. What I did was set it to four minutes, and now screen dims at two. So for me, 4 is the new 2.

It's actually very clever. Who would stare at the springboard for one minute doing nothing? Especially with Touch ID waking up the device so quickly.

hence the whole point in giving it one minute to auto lock. why tell me it will auto lock at one minute when it locks at 30 seconds. give me the option.

Sounds like they changed how it works--the timeout is what you set it to while you are doing something--as in you are in an app or somewhere else other than the home screen--while it's half of that when you are on the home screen (perhaps because they've noticed a lot of people exit out of apps to the home screen and then put their phone somewhere without locking it so that it would lock on its own, so they tried to optimize that scenario so that it doesn't use up as much battery unnecessarily).
