There seem to be a number of issues with 10.12.4. I'm not sure how many of them are related, but I've had a couple occurrences where the system would reboot after entering the password of any user account.

I've done the usual troubleshooting, resetting, safe-mode, etc, but I can't seem to get any of the accounts to log in.

After contacting Apple support, both their L1 and L2 staff could only recommend that I wipe and re-install everything again. Neither seemed to be aware that there were issues with the 10.12.4 release.

Has anyone else run into this issue and know how to fix it? I'd hate to waste time re-installing our environment on these systems every time something like this occurs. The last two times this happened, was on two different brand new 15" MacBook Pro touch.

An update to this. I now have a third 15" MacBook Pro touch, that has been exhibiting the same symptoms. In this case, it's rebooting at boot before it gets to the login screen.

Would need a bit more info than that. If three different computers show the same symptoms I would say its something user specific. Are these really clean installations, such a problem after login screen points at user extensions or items being the problem.

Yes, these really are clean installations. Brand new systems, out of the box. It's not user specific as we've been setting up hundreds of these laptops the same way under 10.12.3 without any issues. Each of them came out of the box, we applied Apple updates which included an iTunes update as well as a Remote Desktop update.

After wiping the drive and reinstalling the OS from the internet, the issue never returned. The only difference that we could see was a firmware upgrade for the touch bar.

If that's the case a reinstall is certainly needed. Might be good to get AppleCare senior department to escalate it.
