Hello,

I got a Macbook air for work. I loaded backup from my imac via time machine onto this macbook air so both computers have exact same files. When I goto work with macbook air, the content for air would be newer than imac.

I am wondering whether there is a way for air to sync with imac so that both computers are at the newest status without me needing to backup air with time machine, then load the latest version backup to imac.

If so it would be very helpful as keeping 2 or more computers at the same status is a very difficult task.

Thanks!

MobileMe can sync your contacts and a bunch of others but are you looking to sync your entire drive?

I'd suggest a mixture of UniPro and Psilocybin's remedies.

Dropbox for files that you may need to edit/update/sync then use MobileMe to sync your settings, keychain, etc...

You could also use iDisk to sync files but I prefer Dropbox for this part of the process.

Hope to help,

I doubt you actually need to sync the entire drive, isn't it more likely you just need to sync home folders?

In any case, I recommend Chronosync. It isn't automatic, but it works great and allows you to sync 'folders' between machines on a network. I use it to sync basic documents between my two machines.
