This is the one thing doing my head in about the new Apple Silicon Macs... Auto Turn On.

Touch a key, it turns on. Open the lid, it turns on. Swipe the touchpad, it turns on. There are times when I don't want it to turn on.

The older Intel models had a Terminal command, but the Apple Silicon ones don't. They really need to include a toggle for this feature!

Agree completely.

I absolutely hate this. What irks me the most is that Apples own support document on cleaning the Mac tells you to completely shut it down before cleaning it. That's all well and good but even breathing on the thing turns it on. How am I supposed to clean the keyboard and trackpad when it just turns back on?

Many complaints about this from many users.

Remember when Apple's theme was "The power to be your best" ??

One would think that they would make the "touch any key to boot" paradigm optional on the wishes of the user -- at least provide the option (most likely in system preferences) to enable/disable it.
