Auto Update

How does it work exactly and when does it update normally?
Will it mess up any of my alarms ?

I've yet to have iOS auto update. It always says its going to update "tonight", but always fails. "We'll try again"

All my friends and co-workers complain endlessly about the broken auto update "feature".

You're best off to do it manually, and it shouldn't mess up any alarms.

Same. Mine never updates automatically either
