I just noticed that my auto updated apps don’t display the blue dot. If I manually update, it does.

I only turned on auto-update for apps a few days ago. Seems backwards if it’s a feature.

On 11.0.2 on ipad air2 and iphone7

Yup it’s always been this way. I prefer it actually since I don’t like seeing the blue dots.

Thanks. Geez, seems inconsistent to do it that way. I’d prefer no blue dots as well, either auto or manual, but got used to it after clicking “Update All”.

Agreed. Don’t really see the point of the dots when you update manually as you know that app was updated.

Well I *like* my blue dots! I like knowing it's been updated. Partially 'cause I like tech stuff, partially because it could even help you troubleshoot or just be aware that stuff may have changed.

Blue dots only ever appeared for me if I went into the App Store and manually updated apps. Never got the blue dots when they auto updated.

I liked knowing when apps are updated too that’s why I used to like when apps would auto update you would see notifications in the notification center saying what apps updated. I never see those notifications any more and haven’t since an early version of iOS 10.
