AutoCad to Jpeg into Illustrator saved as Jpeg into Quark.
Yea, I'm confused too. I'm working freelance for a company who is making an 88-page brochure. I'm finishing up the project because they fired the ad agency who was creating it. (That's always a sign of trouble...)
The company had the quark file created, some images and text placed, but here's the biggie:
Charts.
All of their charts have text, and small images that were created in AutoCad and saved as jpegs, then psds. These "charts" were created in Illustrator. and then saved as jpegs.
The charts aren't pies or bars or graphs,--just information and the images with some background color to delineate the difference in line items.
Personally, I would have just made the "charts" in Quark and placed the images, but the client wants to use the charts as is.
Fine.
Except now they want another chart made. I've reproduced it in the same manner--using Illustrator, and placing those dang jpeg/psd images. And saved the whole shebang as a jpeg. And brought it into Quark.
And those dang images look like crap.
I'm going to check the Illustrator raster settings, but besides that, does anyone have any ideas on how to make these little .psd/jpeg images come in more clearly?
I'm ready to shoot myself. (And you should have seen how they wanted me to do one of their flyers--in Illustrator, with no vector work and tons of text. I had to gently, very very gently, explain that a .ai file was not InDesign.)
