Anyone else notice that in 14.7.1 autocorrect doesn’t seem to work right anymore. Ever since the update it has made mistakes in correction when typing.
Another major annoyance especially in iMessage is it no longer suggests words that make sense. If it is the proper word it’s in the wrong tense such as needing ing when you need ed.
This didn’t happen before the update.

Hi,

Personally, I have not seen that when I was running 14.7.1 but the predictive and auto-correct use on-device machine learning. What I would do is reset the keyboard dictionary on your phone. You do this in settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Keyboard

Then see if anything improves. I believe I had something with the predictive in the past that was odd and this solved it.

Will that reset custom shortcuts I added to the keyboard such as the aapl being ?

It probably will to be honest. I believe it is a total reset of the keyboard config. You could always try disabling, then re-enabling the predictive and auto-correct options. Sometimes doing this helps but not always.

I’ve only written a few messages but turning predictive and a couple of others off and back on seemed to help some. I’m afraid to reset the keyboard because I have shortcuts that are for family and friends and I’m afraid I’ll forget them. But there is an improvement.
