Autodesk comes back to the Mac!

Well it isn't AutoCad yet, but after their not updating Cleaner for Tiger after acquiring it from Discreet, it began to look like Autodesk had no interest in supporting the Mac platform. Now this comes up:

With that, Mac users have all the more reason to demand Autodesk update their other products for Mac users now that they make a product for Mac users that is up to date.

We can only wish they are seeing the light. If they drop Mac support for Maya I'm sure many people (myself included) will be all over them.

I did hear a podcast with an exec from AD a few months back that suggested that they are taking a hard look at the Mac platform and would be making more products for it. This was at the time they bought Maya, 1/3 of Maya users are on the Mac. I think some of this has to do with Maya and the Intel switch. I think that if they were smart they would port all their products to the Mac. This next year will be very telling.
