Is this the correct term for when iPad autocorrects spelling and words regardless of program being used? I've been trying to stop this forever since it's horrible. I turned off autofill in settings but it didn't do anything. Surprisingly, no problem with my iPhone. Help!

The correct term is autocorrect, not autofill. Autofill is the term used for automatically filling in your name, address, credit card info and whatever other personal details you've enabled in Safari settings. To turn off auto correct, start by going to Settings > General > Keyboard > Auto-Correction.

Yes, my mistake, that is exactly what I did. There is no option in keyboard to toggle autofill. I toggled off auto-corection to no avail.

Right, autofill is in Safari settings. Can you show a couple examples of text that's autocorrecting and in what apps?

That's awful, isn't it? I can see there are many links out there about Facebook autocorrect issues. Are you using the app or Safari (or another browser) to access it? Does the app have its own autocorrect setting?

I am so embarrassed and apologize. I've been using another keyboard for so long that I forgot it wasn't the standard keyboard. That appears to be the problem. It's Swiftkey, owned by Microsoft.

No worries; we've all been there in one way or another with tech issues.

A good rule of thumb is to read what you wrote before sending emailing or posting
Auto correct, different keyboards and various settings effect what you write in a strange way on occasion
