Hello,

There once was a wonderful piece of software called FetchArt. It was able to sift through my 38GB iTunes collection and automatically download album art for about 75% of my songs. Only took a few hours. Amazing stuff.

The latest version, 1.1.1, is not compatible with Tiger. The program does not appear to be in development any more.

Any alternatives out there?

Thanks!

If your on Windows try iTunes Art Importer, it works ok.

I don't know if there is a Dashboard widget like this yet, but a really cool widget for Konfabulator called iTunes Companion. It sits on top of your screen and shows the artwork of the current song your playing and if you roll over it you can control iTunes with it. What's better if you don't currently have the artwork for the album it automatically trys to download it off of Amazon, and if it can't find it there it asks you to click on it, and then it'll do a Google image search where you can then drag the right pic of the album on to it. Pretty damn cool, worth the Konfab's $25 just for that.

i used to have FetchArt... actually i think its still on my hd somewhere... but anyway it never worked for me, so i'd like to find another one that actually does... i geuss i'll try the mentioned "clutter"

I *gasp* did it manually. Only took about an hour or so from amazon to iTunes, for about 15 Gigs of music. I've got pretty good at it and the benefits are:
You don't get any artwork that is wrong
You have about a 95% success rate

But that's probably because all this music was my own and in album format - doing 15GB of singles or (gasp again) downloads would be a nightmare.
That's why I steer clear of downloading, that and the sound quality is so variable.
