Resolved Automatic backup

I have plenty of storage available for my iCloud account. My iPhone 12 Pro is set to automatically back up but it’s not happening. Anything special to try?

Can you confirm that the conditions of being connected to power, locked, and connected to wi-fi are being met? Even when all three conditions are met, it doesn't happen instantly.

I had it all on power, locked and connected to WiFi the night before last and expected to see a backup in the morning as usually happens with my prior phones. But nothing. So yesterday, I figured I just do a manual backup. OMG as it was the first, it took forever. And it shows it when you look under backups but when you look at last iCloud backup, it says Never.

I did a hard restart of the phone and at least now can see it showing the time of the last backup. I’m hopeful it will backup automatically tonight.
