Hi all

just have a quick question about using automatic set up, by which I mean using another iOS or iPadOS device to set up a new device by putting it close to the new device.

What sort of things does this transfer over from your old device to your new device... will apps etc transfer over or is it just all settings etc...

I believe it's just settings, like your password, ISP settings, etc.... I don't think it installs your apps that are on other iOS or iPasOS devices.

When I used my iPhone to setup my new iPad Pro, it transferred all my apps and settings. When I used one iPad Pro to setup my new iPad Pro, it transferred all apps and settings, and it arranged everything the same as on the other iPad Pro. All my apps were in folders the same as the other one.

Like Lsmachado said. It just works. Clones everything just the way you’d want.

The only warning concerns downloading your photos from iCloud. If you go between WiFi and cellular before that process is finished, the download will slow to crawl and may appear to be stalled.

Thanks for the info, if it installs apps I probably won’t use this feature (as I don’t tend to have my iPad and iPhone apps mirrored so to speak.

is there an option to not install the apps?
