Automatic Setup in iOS 11

I just received a text that my iPhone X is on it's way and would appreciate info on using the Automatic Setup procedure that came with iOS 11. Has anyone used it to set up their new iPhone and what was your experience?

Just for the curious my original shipping window opened on 12/4, but in about an hour was moved to 11/27, so I was quite excited and pleased to get the text today from AT&T. Other info is as follows:

Phone: iPhone X Silver 256
Order date: 10/28/2017 3:50:32 ET
Original delivery dates: 12/04–12/18
Changed delivery dates: 11/27-12/04
Notified 16 November @ 3:33PM that phone had shipped.

It’s just for restores. It automatically enters your ID credentials and skips the install option page. Works great for what it does, though it doesn’t make it clear that setting your phone up as new isn’t an option.

I used it and it worked fine. Not sure how much time it saves though
