Hey guys, I've had this weird thing happening with my macbook. I've noticed when I shut down my computer it turns itself on again at exactly 6 p.m. Is there a setting I can change? Its sorta weird.

Open up System Preferences and click on Energy Saver. Now click on the "Schedule..." button. From there you can uncheck the box next to "start up at...".

EDIT: Mechcozmo beat me to it.

I'd repair disk permissions, zap the PRAM, and reset the power supply unit (plausible cause, no?). Then call Apple, they'll ask you what you did to try to solve it, so you saved some time.

Very weird, contact apple, but first, do you have any third party apps?

Hard to have a computer without them =P. But they are mostly freeware except Microsoft Office...

I don't have any that would make the computer power on by itself though!! Maybe I have a ghost =).

Now...If only I had any idea how to even attempt any of those...

To repair disk permissions, while in Finder, do Shift+Command+U, then open an app in that folder call Disk Utility, on the left, make sure your HD is selected on the side, then you will see a button called repair disk permissions.

okay...Did that, what about the other stuff?

I was looking through my system profiler and found this....

I don't know if you have solved the problem yet, but you can try checking the box and then unchecking it. That might set and then un-set the preference, although zapping the PRAM should take care of that setting as mentioned above.
