Automatic Updates

I was under the impression that with iOS5 your apps will automatically update (and it will be a ∆ update as well). However, this doesn't seem to be the case. Am I wrong or what?

iOS 5 itself will be updated over-the-air manually, through delta updates.
Apps that you buy on other devices with the same Apple ID will be automatically downloaded to your device.
Apps require manual maintenance.
