So, in iTunes we had this folder called "automatically add to iTunes" and whatever you'd drop in it, if it was compatible, iTunes would import it and place it wherever the meta-data directed it to.

So in Catalina, this folder is still there for me, but it doesn't work anymore. I assume it's just still there from the old install.

Does anyone know how to get likewise functionality in Catalina? I had several ripping/converting programs directed to that folder which was real handy.

It still works in iTunes. If you are using new Music app, the folder name should be "Automatically Add to Music"

Hmm, must've missed it. Was looking for "Automatically add to TV", but maybe that'll do the trick. Thanks!

The TV library is different from the Music library. Default locations are ~/Music/Music and ~/Movies/TV, so the folder "Automatically Add to TV" is located in ~/Movies/TV/Media
