Automatically Move Files to another 1 week later...

Hello,

I was wondering if this was possible. I'm wondering if there was a way to automatically move files from one folder to another after a certain time period.

For example, if I create a folder called New Home Videos and in this folder I place all my (just as you guessed) new home videos. Then, after a week (or whatever time duration), they automatically get moved to my backup drive into a folder where they will stay forever (or until the drive crashes).

Does anyone know if something like this exists or can be done? Maybe an apple script or something?

I hope someone can help me figure this out.

Why thank you! I will look into that. I also just thought about automator scripts, but I'm not good at making those.

Then make simple keyboard Automator script that will make a cool 'Reminders' entry.

Follow the steps in the video Macworld Video Tip: Use Automator service and folder action workflow but when you get to the part of "add to" use the toggle bar to choose the application you want the script to work.

I use the script to make a Reminder entry using my own keyboard entry. I just think this is kind of cool but the only caveat is at every OS X upgrade you have to delete the workflow and just recreate it and it will work again.
