Automatically opening iphoto - how do I stop it?

Whenever I have new pictures taken on my iphone it automatically opens iphoto when I hook it up to my computer. how do I make this stop (and still have it sync with itunes?)

Open iPhoto and in the preferences set it to NOT open when a camera is connected.

Try opening Image Capture from the Applications folder with the iPhone connected. It should ask what you want to do with the iPhone connected - at least it does with camera's anyway.
