So I left Automatic Update everything in Mac OS Sonoma. Does it work like iOS? On the iPhone, iPad, Watch, HomePod, ATV, it just updates on its own and I don't have to do anything with it. Is it the same with Mac OS? I've always done it manually but this is the first time I'm letting it do it on its own. Has anyone done this method with Mac OS?

Yes, yes, and yes.. although I prefer to control when software and operating system updates are applied so I have automatically install updates disabled.

That's cool. I've always done it that way also. This time I'm gonna give it a try and see what happens. If it goes bad, I've already done the Erase to factory once. It was so easy to get stuff back from iCloud. Re-download my Apps from the App Store so I'm gonna experiment and see if the new iMac survives this. lol

Auto update on Mac OS is pretty cool. Got the alerts for my wife MBA M2 and I got mine on the iMac M3 the day after. I selected to let it update at night while we're off to bed. Next day, signed in, Everything looks good so far no issues.
