HomePod Automation to put HomePod to sleep at night?

Hi,

Anyone here competent at automation? I just want to say to HomePod “Hey Siri good night” and it will play a rain sound for 30 minutes then goes to sleep. Sounds simple enough. The problem is I know nothing about automation in Home or Shortcuts so.. helps! ?

I look at shortcuts briefly but found that we can add timer to it but there is no way to specify what it will do once the timer ends (in this case - stop playing or go to sleep). ?

I would look into automatons and scenes. Do not have time to play with that right now.

(I called it Night Night since Good Night is already reserved, but you can change it to anything)

Not sure why it didn't work when I play a rain sound on Apple Music on iPhone then AirPlay to my HomePod. The HomePod just didn't stop playing after timer ended but from this shortcut it did.
Now I even can add this shortcut to sleep mode. Awesome!

Important note: You need to set timer in your phone to Stop Playing.

Not sure why it didn't work when I play a rain sound on Apple Music on iPhone then AirPlay to my HomePod. The HomePod just didn't stop playing after timer ended but from this shortcut it did.
Now I even can add this shortcut to sleep mode. Awesome!

Important note: You need to set timer in your phone to Stop Playing.

Oops I put this in Wind Down and the phone didn't run this short cut automatically ??‍♂️. That doesn't seem like "it just works". I have to create an automation to run this short cut when Wind Down starts.
