“Turn the sound on or off for background videos that automatically play in the Apple TV app: Turn Autoplay Video Sound on or off.”

The ”What to Watch” previews in “Top Shelf” on the Home Screen and movie page previews don’t play any sound regardless of whether this setting is enabled or or not.

Is this a bug, or am I misunderstanding the function if this setting?

if you swipe up on the remote you’ll get sound.
But yeah, not entirely sure what the Autoplay Video Sound is meant to do as whether it’s on or off you’ll get sound when you swipe up.

Exactly. I would assume that with this setting enabled, the audio for the background video would automatically play along with the video, before swiping up. 🤷‍♂️
