I've been a long time user of BiteSMS and have always wanted this feature. I ride a motorcycle so I'd like to be able to respond with a preconfigured message to people when I am riding.

Something like....Launch App and have it prompt me for a auto response. Then I could either enter a new message or select from a list of template messages that I already stored.

I would expect the app to remember who had already texted so if that person replies to my auto response they don't get another auto response. (This would only be till the auto responder was disabled. Once re-enabled it clears the history and starts new.)

A great option would be to have it automatically go off at a set time just in case you forget to turn it off. Or, have it display a message reminding you to disable it.

Lastly, a running log of everyone that texted and when would be nice.

I saw there was something in Cydia that could do some or all of this but it won't let me load it because it is not confirmed for my version of iOS. (5.0.1)

Anyway, just wondering if there is a need/want for this from others as well.

Over 400 views and nobody else thinks this kind of app/tweak would be useful enough to comment? Was hoping for some feedback.

A app that can auto respond text messages would be great to have. I know there was an app in cydia but it was for ios 4

Yeah I see it there but can't install it.

Found a program called Away Text on BigBoss that does this! Installing now and will report if it works.

I can't either. I've made a detailed feature request via their forums. Maybe they will do it. Till then I have not found anything that does it yet.

Martin, the developer, responded and said that this is a possible feature but not till he is done with the iOS6 release.

Did you find any solution?
