iPod Availability and price of 160gb classsic

hi there,

a friend of mine is in New York for work at the moment and i was thinking of asking him to pick up an ipod for me.

does anyone know whether there are still 160gb classic around, and if so how much is apple selling them for?

i'd rather have the extra 40gb storage than the genius features.

If you're looking to buy in-store, unless the retailers have information on their website saying if items are in stock in their physical stores, then you'll have to shop around.

160GB Classics are still available on the Apple Online Store Clearance (for $299) and Refurb ($249) stores, so if you get in quick, you'll get one for $300 brand new online direct from Apple.

thanks for that. for $300 i think i will try and get him to pick one up for me. are they likely to have stock in the apple stores in new york?

Amazon are still selling the 160 Gb ones. I would of thought pretty much anyone who sells them other than Apple will still have old stock to sell for a while. Maybe Apple sells their remaining stock on so they can just sell the new ones.
