Sorry if I am recycling another post, but as of this morning Apple said that they will allow 2 iPhone purchases (granted first come/first serve), will open at 9AM for the rest of the summer and will be able to check inventory on apple.com.

This says to me that I don't have to waste my whole day Friday to wait in line to get an 8GB iPhone. I think I can stroll in at 9AM on Saturday and get one. What do you think?

BTW, I think the people that the people sleeping at the apple stores in SoHo and 5th avenue, especially in the rain, need to get a life hahaha.

I think its safe to assume you can pick one up Saturday morning, or most any day.

If they are allowing 2 per person and staying open until midnight on launch day they must be pretty confident in their launch supply.

Still getting one on Friday. After 6 months of me talking about this thing at work, I'll never hear the end of it if I don't show up on Sat morning with one.

Really? You are willing to spend all day Friday for this? I am a techie geek more than the next mac guy, but I can't imagine spending all day in line for this thing if iPhone supplies were good. Now if they weren't (I remember trying to get a pink ipod mini a few years ago and couldn't find one for 6 months), then I'd wait.

Ditto! I've done nothing but preach and brag about this damn phone....if I don't show up to work with one after launch, I'll get laughed out of the building!

Arc:D

Just not willing to risk it. Going to work to close a deal, leave around 11 and head to a store with my PB, ipod, a small cooler and some sunscreen.

I'm a "gotta have it NOW" kind of guy, and I'm okay with that.:D Now my wife on the other hand....

Gotcha. I understand. Just don't piss off the wife/GF!!! This is a revolutionary product, iPhone v1.0 beats any other product out there right now. And it's flaws like no AIM, slow EDGE, etc is overshadowed by OSX, WiFi, the apps and of course the touchscreen :)

BTW, my GF couldn't believe that I was willing to spend 6 bills on a phone, but I just got her a tiffany necklace for her birthday, so that was enough to keep her quiet hahaha.

I think all of you will live if you have to wait 1-7 days to get your iPhone, if there is even that much of a scuffle.

That's why it's "First come, first serve," not "Most deserving, first served." Nobody will think less of you if they run out and you couldn't get in the line in time. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks. You're also enough of an adult to control yourself--it is a consumer good not required to live or breathe. You likely have no difficulty accessing the internet, your music, and voice communications with family/friends/work right now, so I am sure one week or less will have NO impact on your lifestyle.

Deep breaths.

You'll be okay.

Thanks for putting me in my place buddy.

Acting like an adult is for lamers. This is one of Apple's biggest (if not THE biggest) release ever in the history of man, and you want me to settle down? :D

I've been dreaming about having an Apple phone before it was even announced!

i know i was a sidekick 2 owner... and dont get me wrong it served its purpose... but it lacked so much and it was a pain in the ass some times... but good lil web and email phone... and one of the best keyboards... but now its time to graduate to

:apple: iPhone!

Too funny, my "bribe" to the wife was two tix to see the Police, just north of 5 bills and a full spa day, just south of 4 bills.

So all in all, I'm into this iPhone $1,500. It better live up to the all the hype.

Who am I kidding, of course it will.

I love the enthusiasm...keep it comin'. Who's waiting in line all day tomorrow? What are you gonna do? What's makin you excited about all this hoopla?

I still think I am gonna wait until Saturday, wake up early and enjoy my iPhone until I pick up my GF for dinner that nite :)

Dude, money well spent to have all your gadgets in one and in your pocket + not have the wife pissed off at you. That is priceless.
