I got the new iPad 7 (10.2") when it came out earlier this month. (It's my first iPad.) Currently I'm using a very nice Logitech K380 Bluetooth keyboard with it and that works very well. But I'm interested in getting the Logitech Rugged Folio that takes advantage of the Smart Connector on the new iPad 7 and doesn't require its own power source or Bluetooth.

Logitech apparently will be also making a Slim Folio for the new iPad 7 which seems to have a more normal keyboard (the Rugged Folio appears to be some sort of membrane type keyboard), but the Slim Folio uses Bluetooth and no Smart Connector .

The Slim Folio is apparently shipping in November, and the Rugged Folio is supposed to be available now. Though, the only retailer that shows up for me on the Logitech product page is CDW and I'm not sure if they actually have it in stock. I'd much rather buy from Amazon because I have Prime.

Has anyone actually got one of these yet?

EDIT: I seem to have posted in the wrong forum. Perhaps a mod can move this to the iPad Accessories forum.

At this point you might want to wait until Nov. and see if you can get a "Black Friday" deal.
Just a suggestion..... from a cheapskate. 😜

Not seeing a Logitech model yet, but there are a few nice options on Amazon. There are even a few that have a touchpad to take advantage the new MacOs features.

I really want something with Smart Connector support. There is always a delay waiting for the bluetooth keyboard to wake from sleep before it can be used, as well as other disadvantages.

I finally got the Logitech Rugged Folio a few days ago from Best Buy and it's absolutely great so far! It uses the Smart Connector, so I can leave Bluetooth switched off on the iPad if I want to. It seems to work really well. The keyboard itself feels really normal. There is a lot of key travel and I find it very easy to type on even though there is a thin membrane covering the entire thing. It's nice that it has a home key and all the correct keys on it for iPad OS. It automatically puts the iPad to sleep/locked when you close it. Feels rugged and tough and the magnetic features all work well.

Ditto...got one of these a few days ago...and I am loving it so far. I love how you can fold away the wrist rest for the lap...and then fold the keyboard around and have it magnetize to the back of the device. And how it stores the pencil with the magnetic flip...smart (eh, Apple?). Loving the Smart connector support. The only gripe is that the lock iPad button is right above the delete key. Only happened a couple of times but more my issue than theirs. Just wondering how it will hold up. Feels solidly built...great so far.

Cool. "solidly built" is certainly my impression of it as well. In fact it's holding my iPad so securely that I wanted to remove it the other day, but didn't because it was in there so snug that I would have had to struggle with it and didn't feel like bothering with that. :)

I wonder why it took so long for these to be available. I would have thought they would have been available right at the launch of the iPad 7.
