I hope I can get some help with this problem.

Applecare has been no help whatsoever after hours of conversation..

I have (2) iPad Airs and (2) iPhones 6. All running iOS 9.0.2. All connected to iCloud with the same account.

The same problem with all devices since I upgraded to iOS 9.

They are all 16 GB devices, iPads worked fine for almost 2 years, iPhones for 1 year.

Apps and supporting data have been managed so that there is usually 4-5 GB available free storage.

Every day or two (randomly on each device) I get a warning of no available storage. I go into Settings/General/About and the available storage is shown to be 0 bytes.

I connect the device to iTunes, and see that all the free space, more than 5 GB, has been taken up by “other”. It wasn't there yesterday.

Again, this isn’t a gradual thing. It happens within a day, sometimes even after the device has been unused for just a few hours.

Sometime a re-boot will clear some space, other times I have to do a backup and restore.

Then in a day or two “other” fills up again.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I've seen past posts where features such as  Music can cause issues.

I also use the 16Gb versions of the iPhone and iPad Air and have between 7-5gb of space on each but do not encounter the problem you are encountering.

iOS is terrible at managing space automatically.

I delete hundreds and hundreds of megabytes of cache files and junk files from my phone every week.

iOS is supposed to do so automatically, but I'm not sure if it even does. Once I saw Instagram had 1.7GB in cache (which is considered "Other" in iTunes), just after a few days.

Storage management is extremely important on iOS, considering we cannot expand it.

Are you using any specific app to clear cache files from your device?

I had Battery Doctor on my iPhone but it stopped clearing cache memory after upgrading to iOS 9 (running 9.0.2).

i am having issues too with other.

when you say i have a problem with other, most people say its just junk files or cache files and you have to do a restore to get rid of it

however several times i found it to be corrupt content that is being synced to the phone, and if you uncheck each category ( music, video , photos ) , and resync it, this fixes your other. a lot of times you should uncheck each catagory, sync the device and then check the device to make sure the content was actually deleted.

i had a problem with iTunes match. you turn on iTunes match on the phone. iTunes match says the synced music all be deleted. this turns out not to be true and your entire music library goes to other. i had to turn off iTunes match, delete the music on the phone manually and turn iTunes mach back on to get rid of it

a lot of times if someone says i have 20 or 50 gigs of other and asks how do i get rid of it, you ask them do you have tunes music or iTunes match ? and if they say yes, that is probably what is in the other. its your music library

i am having problems with photos. my iPhone says i have 25 gigs of photos and 35 gigs free. however iTunes says i have 15 gigs of photos and 10 gigs of other. and I'm seeing duplicates of videos, like one video on the phone that is saved on the phone and has a delete icon, and a duplicate copy that is synced that has no delete icon

i tried fixing the library and getting rid of apps that weren't there and i tried rebuilding the photo library and it was a disaster so i restored the old library and am currently just living with it

I had this issue on my iPhone 6 Plus 128 gig. I normally only have about 50 gigs used on the phone but the other day I saw I only had 5 gigs left on the phone. Over 50 gigs was being used by OTHER. I backed up the phone and restored it and the OTHER went away. This iOS 9 release has been horrible for me. I have had nothing but problem after problem. I get one issue fixed and another pops up. But the restore did fix this issue.

I am, actually.

I'm on 8.4.1 though. And it works.

It was probably using an exploit and Apple patched it on 9.0.2. Shameful. All the more reason not to upgrade.

What version of BatteryDictor are you using? I use BatteryDoctor on iOS9.0.2 and it still clears cache files fine for me. I just tested it and it works fine.

Using the latest version of the app.

Just uninstalled the app, rebooted the phone, reinstalled the app and now it works fine. Strange!

Well, from my experience, I think Battery Doctor scans different parts of the flash for junk with every scan for the sake of speed.

Sometimes after rebooting I would scan and no cache was found, but after trying again immediately afterward, 100-200MB of junk was found.
